THEORETISCHER WIND [Theoretical Wind] is an artistic exploration of invisibility and absence, themes often discussed in art theory as gaps in perception. Drawing on the technical flow models of the German Aerospace Center (DLR), Candy Lenk’s work transforms digital simulations of rising winds into a ceramic wall relief, turning the intangible into a tangible form. The piece alludes to the absent, as the digital wind itself is not perceptible to the senses – only its power to shape earth and clay is visible in the frozen folds of the ceramic. The reflections of light on the white glazed surface shift with the viewer’s movement, recreating the original dynamism.
